A date in Bremen for Milram's Christian Knees
Germany's
Christian Knees will be in Bremen as one of the guests at
the official press conference for the Niedersachsen-Rundfahrt,
an international race from the 25th to the 29th of April.
The
26 year-old Milram professional will attend the press conference
on tomorrow, Thursday the 12th of April in Bremen where
ge will talk about the stages, which together add up to
over 890 kilometers of racing, from a riders point of view.
Quick Step-Innergetic riders train on the
route of this weekend's Paris-Roubaix
This coming Friday will see the Quick Step-Innergetic riders
scheduled for the weekend's Paris-Roubaix classic train
on the route from pavé section 19, Haveluy à Wallers,
all the way to section 6, Cysoing à Bourghelles.
Two
years ago their rider Tom Boonen climbed onto the victors
podium on the top step when he won the 'Queen of the Classics'
race. Even though he failed to win last year Boonen will
once again be back and will be looking for the top step
when the race reaches it's climax in the velodrome of Roubaix
after covering some of the most torturous pavé sections
imaginable for a bicycle race.
T-Mobile name riders for tomorrow's GP Pino Cerami
The
175 kilometers raced tomorrow from St. Ghislain to Boussu
will see a T-Mobile team of youth and experience look for
success with sporting director Brian Holm saying, "Each
rider has the chance of getting a good result here."
Holm
expects the race to be decided among a breakaway group of
around 20 riders and said, "It is absolutely critical
for us to that we are represented in this group."
Holm
expects the breaks to start from the gun and is not nominating
any captain before the race starts. Indeed the team is made
up by five all rounder's and a trio of sprinters who will
all be given their chance as the tactics are decided as
the race unfolds.
One
rider making a comeback after a long period of illness is
28 year-old rider Stephan Schreck. Holm said, "Stephan
needs time, and he needs to get some race kilometers in
the legs before he will be in shape to leave his mark on
races."
The
complete T-Mobile roster for the GP Pino Cerami tomorrow
in Belgium is" Mark Cavendish (GBr), Bert Grabsch (Ger),
Greg Henderson (NZL), André Korff (Ger), Aaron Olson
(USA), Marco Pinotti (Ita), Frantisek Rabon (CZE) and Stephan
Schreck (Ger)..
Predictor-Lotto's
Wim De Vocht is out of the Paris-Roubaix classic with a
broken thumb
One
rider who will not be lining up for the Paris-Roubaix classic
this weekend will be Wim De Vocht after he crashed out of
the Ghent-Wevelgem earlier today.
The
Predictor-Lotto rider crashed at the Kemmelberg breaking
his thumb and suffering from several flesh wounds forcing
him out of the race the riders call 'The Hell of the North.'
De
Vocht had been scheduled to ride the event lining up alongside
teammates Leif Hoste and Tom Steels to name just two. Instead
he will now be replaced by Björn Leukemans in the team -

Quick
Step-Innergetic announce for tomorrow's GP Pino Cerami and
the Tour of Georgia
Belgium's
Quick Step-Innergetic team will be back in action at tomorrow's
GP Pino Cerami in Belgium, a race on the UCI's Continental
circuit.
Directed
by the team's sporting director's Rik Van Slycke and
Davide Bramati the riders will compete in the race in and
around Wasmuel before they leave for America's Tour of Georgia
from the 16th to the 22nd of April.
Selected
riders for both of the events are: Mauro Facci, Alessandro
Proni, Ivan Santaromita, Leonardo Scarselli, Hubert Schwab,
Kevin Seeldraeyers, Andrea Tonti and Maarten Wynants.
CSC
and Predictor-Lotto name their riders for the Paris-Roubaix
Both
Danish team CSC and Belgian squad Predictor-Lotto have named
their selections for the weekend's Paris-Roubaix classic
in Northern France.
Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara will be back leading the
CSC team in the Classic defending his win from last season.
He will be supported in the ever powerful Danish squad by:
Matti Breschel, Allan Johansen, Marcus Ljungqvist, Kasper Klostergaard,
Lars Michaelsen, Luke Roberts and the ever impressive Australian
rider Stuart O'Grady.
Belgian
team Predictor-Lotto will field: Leif Hoste, Bert Roesems,
Roy Sentjens, Tom Steels, Greg Van Avermaet, Wim Vansevenant,
Johan Vansummeren and Björn Leukemans who has been drafted
in as a late replacement to Wim De Vocht who crashed breaking
his thumb earlier today in the Ghent-Wevelgem race in Belgium
earlier today [see separate story above]..
